We would like to thank all of the faculty members, including professors, for their support of our organization!
We are excited to announce a new program targeted to you, ISU's hardworking faculty! In an effort to recognize support provided from our faculty members, we have created this new VIP program. It's simple:
(1) Support the UPB through any way you feel comfortable. We've provided some suggestions below.
(2) Fill out a nomination form for you or a co-worker!
(3) Bring the nomination form to the UPB office on the first level of the Bone Student Center, mail it to Campus Box 2647, or fax it to 309.438.5671!
(4) Once a month, the UPB will select one nomination form at random... The winner receives free lunch for them and nine of their coworkers!
(5) Nominate as often as you'd like!
If you believe in our organization and are looking for ways to support our group, here's a helpful list! We ALWAYS appreciate creativity, and if you have a unique way of working with the UPB, please share it! eMail your ideas to UniversityProgramBoard@ilstu.edu, and we'll add it to this list!
Announce UPB events in your class.
Offer to go with your students to select events... They're fun for you, too!
Offer extra credit for select events. For example, Music professors: Offer extra credit for attending our concerts; English professors: Offer extra credit for attending our book club meetings; Cinema professors: Offer extra credit for attending our film-related programs. Sociology or Politics professors: Offer extra credit for attending movies in our "Awareness Movie Series" about diversity or social justice; Acting or Communication professors: Offer extra credit for attending improv; Art professors: Offer extra credit for attending Fall Fest; Politics professors: Offer extra credit for attending our Rock the Vote program; Dance professors: Offer extra credit for attending Salsa Magic; Psychology professors: Offer extra credit for attending Hypnotist Dale K; Sociology professors: Offer extra credit for attending our Hunger Banquet; the list goes on and on!
Offer extra credit to UPB members who can write a paper detailing how their work with the UPB directly correlates with your class work.

Post our events schedule on your office door.

Have discussions on topics that are covered at UPB events. For a list of topics covered in our Awareness Movie Series, contact the Redbird Awareness Committee Chairperson at RedbirdAwareness@ilstu.edu.
Share your personal experience at some of our discussion-based programs, such as the Awareness Movie Series. We typically have Faculty guests speak after each movie, and if you have a story to tell, we want to hear it! eMail our Redbird Awareness Committee Chairperson at RedbirdAwareness@ilstu.edu.
Bring your family to an event! For more information about our all ages programming, please contact the Redbird Family Committee Chairperson at RedbirdFamily@ilstu.edu.
Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about our events. Many Bloomington-Normal residents don't know that our events are open to them, too!
Marketing professors: Encourage your members to become involved in our Redbird Graphics Committee. eMail the Chairperson at RedbirdGraphics@ilstu.edu.
Include UPB information or a UPB link (www.programboard.ilstu.edu) on class websites or Blackboard.
Include UPB information or a UPB link (www.programboard.ilstu.edu) on you syllabus.
If you have Facebook, friend "Redbird Moments" on the Illinois State network.
If you create a Facebook group for your class, invite "Redbird Moments."
Promote open leadership positions within the UPB. For an updated list, contact our Director of Membership at UPBMembership@ilstu.edu.
Pass out UPB promotional items to students in your class (i.e. cups, magnets, punch cards, etc.) To get some, contact our Director of Marketing and Promotions at UPBMarketing@ilstu.edu.
We have punch cards that students, faculty, and staff could get for free... Fill the punch card by going to ten events and get a free gift! To encourage safe student involvement, offer extra credit to students who fill their punch card.
Allow UPB members to pass out surveys in class... This could be especially helpful for research or communication courses! To set up an appointment, contact our Director of Assessment and Records at UPBAdministration@ilstu.edu.
Wear a UPB tee shirt to class! If you'd like to find out how to get a membership tee shirt, contact our Director of Membership at UPBMembership@ilstu.edu.
Don't erase the whiteboard messages we leave. In fact, if you announce what we write we'd really appreciate it! (Note: We try to keep these clean... If one looks tacky, feel free to report it directly to the UPB President at UniversityProgramBoard@ilstu.edu. Our goal is to promote our events and services, and not to, of course, get in the way of your instruction).
Present to our organization's members... We're big into education here, so if you've got a lesson on how to market better, life management, career tips, etc., we want to hear from you! Please contact our Director of Development at UPBDevelopment@ilstu.edu.
